As a baby boomer borns in 1957, the year that had the largest boom of babies born in the history of the world, I've grown up with a cohort of people my age. The boom officially began in 1945, at the end of World War II, and ended in 1964, the year the Beatles broke on the shores of the U.S.
Although our values and experiences were not necessarily homogeneous, the generation shared many common milestones and although it's now a cliche, we lived through what is irrefutably a significant and tumultuous decade in the 1960s. I have nothing against Gen-Xers, or Yers or the Next Generation or Millennials. But my perspective on the world is as a boomer, and so is that of an awful lot of folks in the world today.
